India’s Ministry of Civil Aviation has announced that, effective 16 January, all domestic outbound passengers from Bengaluru International Airport will be charged a User Development Fee of INR260 (US$5.30), the Centre for Asia Pacifi c Aviation has reported. The fee will be levied irrespective of the date of booking or purchase of ticket.
Albert Brunner, CEO of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) was quoted saying; “UDF is a crucial revenue stream for us and although we have not been allowed to charge the amount we requested for, this is a beginning."BIAL already charges a UDF of INR1,070 for international passengers, the report added.
